Mai Life - My Japan Visa Processing Experience
As
far as I know Japan Visa for Philippines citizen is free, but we cannot
directly apply thru their embassy, thus requiring us to process the
visa via accredited travel agencies. I processed mine through Discovery
Tours, what I did was
complete all necessary requirements as stated in their Website (http://discoveryjt.com/). I paid 800
pesos for the processing fee; this is the cheapest amongst all travel agency
processing Japan Visa.
Just a background, this is my first time applying for a
Japan Visa, though I can say that I am already well traveled both work related
and leisure. I have an expired Visa for South Africa and transit visa for UAE.
I have been to HK, Macau, China, Malaysia, Singapore, UEA and South Africa.
Issues I encountered:
- Bank Statement, after reading several forums and blogs I have learned that too small and too much money in the bank may cause you to get disapproved. Just to give you an idea the usual amount that must be presented for a solo traveler is around 50,000 to 150,000 Pesos.
- Civil Status, just a background I got married last May 2014, but after 1 and half year I haven’t got the chance nor the “sipag” to change the status in all my government and private documents. My Passport already has my Married name but not my ITR nor my bank and other stuff. I was really worried that I will be rejected because of those discrepancies, but maybe because a Marriage contract was also a requirement I still got approved.
I waited for the visa result for 3 days and thank God I was
approved.
